Orthopedic Value Based Care Join Us at Orthopedics Most Important Event American College of Perioperative Medicine

The Orthopedic Value-Based Care (OVBC) conference, now in its 9th year, has clearly evolved into a central gathering for stakeholders across the orthopedic ecosystem. With its mission to bring together orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, healthcare executives, nurses, medical device representatives, physical therapists, pharmaceutical leaders, payers, and consultants, the focus remains on fostering collaboration around value-based care and innovation in musculoskeletal (MSK) health.

This year holds particular significance due to the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) upcoming 2026 mandatory bundle. This bundle encompasses lower joint surgery, hip fractures, spinal fusion, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), and colorectal procedures. As such, the event will be structured around preparing practices for this regulatory shift.

The conference’s approach this year is highly pragmatic, aiming to provide participants with actionable tools rather than just academic knowledge. Notably, Thursday's schedule includes two critical boot camps. The first will address the TEAM (Total Episode of Advanced Management) bundle, where representatives from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) will answer questions. The second will focus on perioperative care in 2025 and provide insights on managing care within the TEAM framework.

By emphasizing a "take action" mindset, OVBC is positioning itself as a practical, solutions-focused event that equips attendees with the necessary steps to align their practices with the evolving healthcare landscape. This hands-on approach will likely be invaluable for professionals seeking to implement concrete strategies in preparation for the CMS changes and the broader shift toward value-based care in orthopedics.

CMS TEAM Bootcamp with CMMI

Perioperative Boot Camp

On Demand Videos

Due to popular demand, we will hold a Basics of MSK VBC Boot Camp on Thursday, followed by an advanced MSK VBC models track on Saturday. We strongly encourage participants without a solid background in MSK VBC to attend Thursday’s basic workshop first.

We are planning to hold several symposia focused on the nuts and bolts of two CMS programs! The program is designed for both clinicians and administrators. If your hospital is part of the CMS TEAM program, it’s essential that you participate and be part of the solution.

Back by popular demand! Join us for a full day of programming dedicated to enhancing your surgical environment. This session will cover the operational, clinical, and financial aspects of programs such as Enhanced Surgical Recovery (ESR) and the Perioperative Surgical Home.

Included with your 2025 registration are video courses from previous OVBC annual meetings. This is a significant bonus, as our on-demand library features over 75 lectures. It’s a great opportunity for learners to access essential knowledge in today’s fast-paced healthcare environment.
